Overview

EigenLayer is a decentralized protocol built on Ethereum, designed to enhance the security and scalability of various blockchain applications. It allows Ethereum stakers to "restake" their ETH and secure multiple decentralized networks beyond Ethereum itself, leveraging the security of the existing Ethereum infrastructure. By enabling ETH holders to secure various services like data availability layers, oracles, or bridges, EigenLayer encourages innovation by reducing the need for individual projects to develop their own security systems. It aims to create a modular ecosystem, allowing diverse projects to benefit from Ethereum’s robust security while maintaining decentralization.
